No arguments from me here.

We lack the numbers to show any statistical validity with the newer recond. units, but if what that member said is correct, his reconditionned unit was the first I'd read about that had 2nd on dowshift... as all the earlier reports we got on the forum mentionned no 2nd gear, and that's when we speculated they were using failure prone hardware from the first gen ZF9s, and had to keep protecting the snap ring by removing 2nd gear on downshift.
If 2nd gear is really back with the newer batch, then maybe... just maybe...

BTW : we asked most of the members who got tranny replacements to post the part#, and with that we can easily check whether it is a brand new unit or a recond.
