I wouldn't say "negative waves" but more like realistic expectation and harsh reality. It's sad that our KLs and my my XK don't receive the aftermarket support and variety that JK/U, FJs, Tacomas and 4Runners do.

The KL is a diamond in the rough just waiting to have the correct support. But that's not how markets work. Already I take my KL and XK to places where built up JKs and FJs roam and I only drop out where severe rock crawling is involved. Over 80% of those same JKs and FJs won't go places where I go when we overland. Not because they can't, but because their owners won't. Scared, indifferent, unable due to inability, knowledge, etc. But the fact is, they choose to buy those JKs and FJs because they want to feel that they can do the things their daydreams or fantasies drive them to. Or even just to simply "look the part" with no intention to wheel whatsoever. That's a harsh fact as well.

Heck, I just want a decent suspension solution for 33" tires, larger spare tire well, swing away (non-Wilco) bumper and fuel solution, and a robust front bumper. I'll still be handicapped against the JKs and FJs, but I'll be able to go and do 99% of what I want to do and do it comfortably, quietly and conveniently.

Bros aren't going to buy a KL to show off, they're going to have Wranglers.

I saw the new Colorado ZR2 ad yesterday. Looks great, and has a nice OE cutaway bumper. At any rate, it's the same as the others, a little better capability than the KL TH but starts at $10k more, obviously will ride like a truck, and has an EPA 18 mpg highway. I'll pass.

I wheel with a guy with one... not as capable as our kls... he had to leave his truck behind and ride with me while continuing with my other buddy who has a tacoma trd offroad.

Was it a regular Colorado or a ZR2???

The zr2 has front and rear lockers, rock sliders, and stock 31s. And maybe even better approach angle. Doesn't sound inferior to the KL

The new ZR2 should be extremely capable, and I'm sure will get a great many more aftermarket parts than we can get....

Holy crap! It's 21" longer than ours, and only 14" shorter than my 2005 extra cab 6 1/2' box f150!
