Question Fog Lights

Hey all!

Been reading through the form for about 2 months now, finally decided to register since I've placed my order for my Cherokee Sport 4x4 a couple weeks ago.

I've read a lot of threads regarding the lack of light the headlights produce. Being the Sport model, I did not have an option for fog lights (that I can remember)... Does anyone happen to know if it would be difficult to install them myself? I was considering buying from the mopar site but I don't want to have to tear the dash apart just to wire them up if its a tough job. Does anyone know if this would be possible? I've installed fog lights on numerous vehicles before, I'm just more so curious if I could get them to look stock. Thoughts? Ideas?

I have a Sport model without fog lights and find the lighting to be plenty.

Honestly from the front, the models with fog lights look a bit like a christmas tree to me...to many light sources of different shades.

This idea has been bugging me as well... Not because I am not satisfied with the light from the head lights, but just out of curiosity... Technically there are should be an option to get all the necessary parts from Mopar site, but the minute I think that it would be necessary to do wiring inside the car and replace the stock light switch with the one having option for fog lights, it seems like a pain in the neck... So, I will probably opt out for now.

Big pet peeve of mine. I am still trying to find a set of parking and fog light bulbs that match the color of the HIDs on my Mini. Frustrating. LED cluster bulbs are perfect but I haven't found one that doesn't burn out fast.

Thanks for the input! I'm glad to hear that the light output is plenty as that has been quite a bit of concern. Would anyone happen to know if the the front fascia just pops out where the fog lights should be? Or are they molded in on the non-fog light versions which would mean cutting the plastic? I could see myself eventually adding a set of fog lights.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but I won't buy a vehicle without fog lights. I am older but my vision is still 20/20 in one eye and 20/25 in the other as I just had it checked this week, but I like the added light in front of my vehicle. It is really nice in a pickup truck (just traded my 2012 Ram 1500) but I notice the extra light in front of my TH too. On my dodge dart it doesn't make a lot of difference since the headlights are so low to begin with but I have them anyhow.. However, not many on here appear to agree with me so each to his own conclusion on fog lights.

Yes, the bezel pops out, Part # 68203221AA . They run $13.60 each at your local dealer. I am currently looking for some aftermarket lights to install on my Sport also.

I'm looking to add fogs on my Sport as well. I'm thinking the best option is to replace the headlamp switch with an OEM with the foglight option (68154353AB?).

From looking at the wiring harness, it appears the wiring is there. I believe I have the front fascia wiring harness due to the Active Grille Shutters. So only a fuse is needed plus the lights and bezel.

My main concern is whether or not the relay is installed on the PCB. Are all PCBs the same regardless of options?

To be honest I do think the fog lights are worth it. I've got them on my limited. They can only be used without the hi beam. In Australia you are not allowed them on unless it is in foggy conditions. I would rather have a set of spot lights in there place because I live in the Bush and low lights to the side would be good to spot animals at the side of the road. That being said the headlights and hi beam are too bad.
