When you do not want the Tonneau in it's working position what do you do with it? Have you found any convenient place to put it in the Cherokee? I saw on a Honda CRV when not in use it snaps down in the rear of of trunk.
On my Cherokee, when I took it off I could not find a place to put it. I will need to take it out of the car when not in use.
Anybody else removed the ugly instructions?
Took a little time but finally got it off.
It annoyed me I suppose because it clashed, being the sticker was in black and my interior is brown.
After removal it left behind a spot where you can tell there was something but it's certainly not as offensive as the old black sticker.
I'm considering putting something a little more tastefull back in its spot. Maybe some sort of Jeep sticker/badging?
I've seen this cover executed better in other makes like my wife's Mazda CX-5 but this isn't a bad setup.
I put the tonneau cover in the garage the day after we got the car. It's for sale, for the best offer, to any KL owner in BC who wants to come and get it. - TedB
Eh, I often have laptop bags in my cargo bay. I prefer as much view obstruction as possible when I do. I also like the "deck" look in the rear view mirror.
Per the (old) original topic, when not using it I flip it over and behind the roller per the instructions. Was awkward the first couple of times but now it's easy. I much prefer that over having to lift the floor--I'd never use it if it were that much trouble.
It's very quiet in that position since it's tensioned a bit against the back seat, and it looks very "OEM". When deployed it can rattle a little, though I suspect some skillfully placed felt would fix that.
is there any chance you still have your tonneau cover available? I just bought a cherokee (2017) and wonder if it may be the same size? I know it's been a while since your post, but if you still have it, I'd love to get one.
Yes, I'm fairly certain the covers fit cross year. Also, I deleted your email. Not allowed to post that kind of information since this is a public forum.
If you don't have any passengers, you can slide the rear seats forward and store it in the space behind the back seats, when not in use. Just sold the wife's '08 Lexus RX, and that had a nifty spot under the rear floor for it...which we never used.
FYI: these are available on eBay. That is where I purchased mine. I place it on the rear seat floor if I'm not carrying passengers. If I have passengers, I just leave it home.
I keep mine in the garage!!! It was on the sticker/build sheet. That's the same place I could keep my CD player that was on the sticker/build sheet of our other TH!!
Come to think of it, mine is in the garage also. Carried my rims and tires to get mounted so there was no room for the thing. My tint is dark enough to hide everything back there already. Plus weight reduction. Removing that 5 pounds gains me 3.1mpg and 20whp.
I gave mine away a time back. Sorry I didn't know you wanted one.
