It is standard on all 2015's with the 6cyl regardless of package(s).
It is not available on any 4cyl Cherokees.

Just One?

One WHOLE less time. WOW! I hardly think it is worth it. I truly hate this feature. It is annoying beyond belief.

Asked Service Manager ...

I asked the service manager if I could short the switch closed, He said that doing so would "fix" the issue and completely void my warranty in the process. I am going to live with turning ESS off every time I get in my TH.

I don't really like it (but it came with the Comfort/Convenience group package...so didn't have a choice) and I don't want to turn it off every time I start the engine (which I've been doing). Is there a way to disable it completely (i.e. fuse removal, etc)?

Why bother? It's so easy to get used to.

2015 Cherokee Limited - Ordered 10/21 and built 11/14. Took delivery on 11/21/14 - Deep Cherry, V6, ADII, all the tech stuff and options except a sunroof, CD player, subwoofer and charging pad.

I'm in a different camp. I don't like it because I have to stop multiple times on my way to work as all vehicles have to pass through a security checkpoint.

I stop, the engine dies, 2 seconds later I have to move again, wait .3 secs to start the engine up, move forward one car length, stop, engine dies, 2 seconds later I'm moving again.

It's an annoying "feature".

One thing I do to avoid the feature kicking in and the engine shutting off, is simple......just monitor the pressure you put on the brake....if you don't put a ton of pressure on the pedal you can stay stopped but the ESS does not kick in. That being said I like the feature, although I am still getting used to it and I am averaging much better gas mileage than they have rated the vehicle as. I do a lot of highway kilometers, and am averaging 8.4 liters per 100 kms since new.....had it only 2 weeks.

I'll be happy when Chrysler or someone finds a way to disable this annoying system. I love everything else about my Trailhawk other than this stupid ESS system. If I wanted fuel economy savings I would have bought a Honda. The V6 gets good gas mileage without using ESS. It's just a bunch of needless electronics added to an already complex package. When everyone in a few years after the warranty is up has to replace that AGM battery, then they will hate ESS.

This. I've had the thing for a week and I've already figured that out. The ESS will never kick in if you don't smash the pedal down.
