Anyone knows how to disable the ESS

Anyone knows how to permanently disable the Engine Stop/Start system.

I don't really like it (but it came with the Comfort/Convenience group package...so didn't have a choice) and I don't want to turn it off every time I start the engine (which I've been doing). Is there a way to disable it completely (i.e. fuse removal, etc)?

That's what I thought...Still don't like it...I guess I'll be manually turning it off every time I start the engine....

I didn't even like the hill assist in my manual Wrangler either...kinda felt weird (was not used to it not rolling back on hills and there was usually a slight hesitation). I actually like that roll...feels like a real manual.

How do you feel about starting a petition that we could send to Chrysler to offer us the ability via software to disable it? It's a nice feature but it's really disappointing that the driver has to disable it manually each time they start the vehicle instead of disabling it in the settings menu.

Any chance the start/stop functionality is epa driven? Allowing permanent turn off could affect lifetime gas mileage.

our government gives extra credit in gas mileage ratings for start/stop and grill flaps. thats why more and more cars have these two items.

In case you haven't noticed, the Cherokee has a really tiny gas tank. If you leave ESS turned on, you'll have to stop one less time every year to get gas.
