so this is just pretty much mileage versus towing capacity. I would imagine that the v6 would be a **** of a lot torquier compared to the four cylinder.

I think i'll stick with the penstar for the power since i won;t be able to afford the SRT at least i still have usable power.

490miles in one tank? Who can say that isn't huge for an SUV. the only other time I have heard of the tigershark engine was when the Dodge Dart was first introduced. Four banger it is. The penstar v6 would be nice but From th esounds of it I won't be needing the extra towing power. I need more money saved from fuel for the diapers!

2.4L engine for me.

This will be my daily driver which I won't need to tow anything, at most it will be a hitch mounted rack with some boxes, which doesn't amount to much so no need for the power of the V6.

The Tigershark still has a decent amount of torque considering the fact that it's a 2.4L four cylinder.

Guess you won't be interested in the SRT if you don't need any power

I would be buying the Cherokee for its towing capacity, and therefore need the V6.

not just towing

I would consider a V6 based on the dynamics of the Tigershark on hilly/mountainous terrain at highway speeds and on the trail. While I suspect the TS on the trail will be fine I just feel safer in a vehicle that can get out of its own way at 70+ mph.

What's in a name

Why does the I-4 get a cool name like Tiger Shark and the V6 is stuck with a lame name related to the Chrysler logo?
When did cars start getting engine names? Hemi in the 60's?

490 miles on one tank! What are the official MPGs for the Tiger Shark? I would go for that one if it is just as quiet inside as the V6.

haha I saw this one coming but didn;t expect it to be this soon on this forum. I agree with you the v6 six should sport a newer and better name. Penstar is just too old school sounding. Well at least in my books.

It should be named Cyclone or something....
