Same here, about 1000 miles since R01 was applied. Yesterday I was creeping up to a roundabout and went to merge into traffic, yep, still in third gear. Had to floor it and wait for the downshift while hoping the car coming round wasn't about to plow into me.

Whoever talks to Chrysler or their service department be adamant that it is a safety issue no matter whether they believe it or not.

I don't know what Chrysler number you're calling but call this one 800-763-8422 and tell them your dealer won't even acknowledge it and you know there is fix. Tell them to open a star case for you.
Thanks for the info! I've been calling the Chrysler Canada number and they have been helpful with opening cases for me, but nothing ever comes of it. They made me an appointment at the shop where I bought the vehicle from, it was very well documented on Chryslers end when my wobble occurs and what happens, etc. When I took it in, the technician said there were no problems and no wobble. Chrysler never even followed up with me to see the outcome. I've been through this twice at another shop as well, without Chryslers assistance. One time I was asked by a shop manager how I knew what a solution was to a certain problem (I cannot remember what this particular problem was), as soon as they heard me say Cherokee Forum, he stopped me and didn't want to hear anymore. He mumbled something about "oh those forums..." and turned away. I have a feeling they think I'm a hypochondriac when it comes to my Cherokee. Either that or they just don't want to do the work, which I have quickly come to realize.

They've re-flashed my UConnect radio multiple times because my SD card reader disconnects. Its a bad connection in SD card slot itself which is causing the problem, but they seem to think flashes will fix it. Ooh, and I was told that the most recent flash would cure my wobble, the wobble which they didn't even acknowledge in my previous vists. BTW, it didn't cure the wobble, as expected lol.

I've had some many problems with my Cherokee that I don't hesitate to push back on whoever is handling the issue. My case was escalated yesterday for review. It was explained to me as being an "internal lemon law" kind of situation, however, I got a call today asking me to take my car back again before they will do anything. I was sure to mention all of the problems that still aren't fixed, and added the 3rd gear downshift problem. I also made sure to mention how all of their attempted repairs have tanked the value of my car, and the case manager mentioned that we could talk compensation and trade assistance after my car was brought back in again. I really don't want trade assistance because I know they will only help if I buy another Chrysler product, which I do not want. The only compensation I would accept at this point is a refund or a check big enough to cover depreciation and taxes so I could trade out of this vehicle.

For those of you working with a case manager, my advice is to stay on top of everything. Any time I visited or spoke with the dealer, I made sure to immediately call my case manager, or if I experienced any issues I would immediately call. So far this tactic has worked with getting my points across and not letting them forget me.

I prefer to email them so that I can keep all documentation... They are quite rude through phone or online chat.....Their answer is NEVER HEARD ABOUT THIS for every questions I asked. I almost believed that my car is the only one with problem before I found this forum.

I don't even have my case managers email, and didn't even know they have one. I prefer to discuss things in person. My documentation is done through my service records. I haven't had any rude discussions with my case manager. I'm not sure about my new case manager though.

Man....I was reading about all of your "downshift from 3-1" problems and think I have that also. Just got my Jeep back (new transmossion) last week and being such a "novice" driver to this model, I thought I was just dumb (again). When I first got it back, I drove it on the interstate to "feel the shift/gears change" (no music, no other noise). I never thought about the downshifts until I drove it today and wondered if I can count the gears changing while I accelerate - why can't I feel them decrease when I come to a stop. Am I dumb here, or is something wrong? I think mine doesn't drop from 3rd either....

So do you think its worth getting the update? Or is it safer to stay with what I've already got?

I'm sure everyone isn't getting this same result. I just wonder why some are. Maybe it wasn't preformed right somehow.
If you aren't having many problems I wouldn't do it, but then again they say if you don't have it you my experience problems. I'm sure there will be another flash out in hopefully the near future..
