I've had some many problems with my Cherokee that I don't hesitate to push back on whoever is handling the issue. My case was escalated yesterday for review. It was explained to me as being an "internal lemon law" kind of situation, however, I got a call today asking me to take my car back again before they will do anything. I was sure to mention all of the problems that still aren't fixed, and added the 3rd gear downshift problem. I also made sure to mention how all of their attempted repairs have tanked the value of my car, and the case manager mentioned that we could talk compensation and trade assistance after my car was brought back in again. I really don't want trade assistance because I know they will only help if I buy another Chrysler product, which I do not want. The only compensation I would accept at this point is a refund or a check big enough to cover depreciation and taxes so I could trade out of this vehicle.
For those of you working with a case manager, my advice is to stay on top of everything. Any time I visited or spoke with the dealer, I made sure to immediately call my case manager, or if I experienced any issues I would immediately call. So far this tactic has worked with getting my points across and not letting them forget me.
