Test drove a 4cyl 2016 today. It downshifts to 2nd at 7mph. Same as the 2015 built 6/15 I test drove yesterday.
I'm going to ask the dealer to install whatever flash those 2 cars have into my car. The whole dealer installed update and lose 2nd gear is frustrating...
On a positive note, the steering wheel comes closer to the driver now. Handy if you're tall and drive with the seat to the back. Also the dash has changed, clocks 0 position is at the bottom. It also shows 2 numbers for gear: which one it is currently in, and what the limit set by ERS is.
Surely this feature will benefit repair people too? Lots of times you need to know what gear something is happening in. With 3 it wasn't so hard. But with 9, wow. Don't we use sound and feel to help us distinguish gearing? And those repair people work in a noisy environment, I swear most of them have hearing loss.
Moving the stick over to ERS shows you the gear you are in. Just remember to move the stick back once you've seen the gear, to avoid losing upshifting capabilities
Having the gear displayed like that is great, should have been done from the start (2014s). They won't give it to us, the pre 2016 crowd.
Does this also fix the issue with the trans going into 9th gear? I did see it once over the last 6 months but always only get to 8th gear even using manual mode. Love to get better mileage or atleast what the y said I was going to achieve.
I have a 200s (2015) and it has an option to display the gear you are in, while in Drive and Sport modes. I wish my wife's 2014 Cherokee had it as well.
