2016 wobble

Has anyone noticed a wobble in the 2016's?? I've got one and feel as if it wobbles a little from a complete stop up until about 20 mph.

Yes, I have a 2016 Latitude 4x4, v6 and it has a slight wobble from just after it starts rolling until its first shift. Very similar to what has been described on this board. Not too bad right now and I'm going to wait a while before I take it into the dealer. Someone posted the 2014-2015 TSB and I'll have that in hand when I take it to the dealer for a repair. I've only had this KL since Monday and like I said it is not so bad right now and plans are to wait & see. I still like the ride so no buyers remorse.

I have my 2016 Altitude 3.2-V6 4x4 since the beginning of August. I have had absolutely no wobble. I find the shift point between 2nd and 3rd a little annoying, but I've never been completely happy with any automatic. Sure wish there would have be a manual option...

A FCA tech confirmed a few months ago to driving a brand new 2016 AD1 with straight shafts and the wobble.

Important things to consider :
- The Cherokee needs to have the AD1 all-wheel-drive system. TrailHawks are immune because they can't be delivered with AD1.
- The front axle shafts need to be straight, across the whole lenght (see the wobble TSB for pictures, link below).
- This particular wobble happens while gently accelerating from a stop, at approx.15-20mph, in 2nd gear maybe a bit into 3rd.
- This wobble is a side-to-side shimmy vibration, and usually only lasts one to two seconds.
- Using ERS in 6th or 7th gear may diminish this wobble significantly. So can turning off Hill Start Assist (in UConnect).

I've got a 2016 Cherokee latitude 4x4 V6. I have had mine since October 17th and love it. The wobble isnt terrible yet but i have noticed it a little bit, I figured I would wait for my first oil change and if it still wobbles I figured I would mention it.

Anyone with a slight wobble should just look at the shafts under the front of the vehicle - if they're straight, they need to be swapped out for the stepped ones. That's what the TSB does. No point in living with a slight wobble, get 'em swapped! Surprised they're still being shipped with the straight shafts.

I wonder if FCA has issued a revised TSB to include 2016s ; if not, the service folks may not get a hit when doing a VIN check.

We've discussed the *why no stepped shafts on 2016s* in another thread, briefly. No conclusion, other than perhaps the changes to steering and suspension annonced for 2017s sealed the fate of 2016s. Too expensive to go to new shafts for only one model year... and face the possibility of a recall for 2014s and 2015s by rolling out 2016s with stepped shafts (= admitting failure with straight shafts). Less costly to just swap axles on the minority of wobbly AD1s. But we were just speculating...

if they ever release any TSBs that apply to the 2016s, they darn well better include FWDs (for all model years) also. im tired of dealing with the wobble and being marginalized by both the dealership and FCA.
