I have had my 2014, 2.4L for three weeks now. I am noticing that the transmission is reluctant to change down when going up a slight incline and running at 60 KM hr, 1400 RPM and in 6th gear, the engine struggles and you can hear it labor plus things start rattling in the cabin. I have to really down the accelerator to get it to shift. Is this the adaptive phase or am I about to get a tranny problem. This vehicle seems sooooo tender at times. Any advice/help appreciated. J
Good advice, but this would be a "band aid" for a problem. My wife would never use the manual shift... maby I should have looked for a 6 rather than a 4.. j
The low rumbles/rattles are normal for a 4cyl as they struggle in the lower rpm's. This is a simple characteristic of any 4 cylinder engine telling you to shift lol.
As far as not downshifting, I've never had problems with my 4cyl. Usually I just give it a bit more gas, and the odd time downshift manually. However, I would have had no problems getting up the hill if I didn't intervene.
Yea thanks, going in this afternoon for a TSB (creaking steering wheel) so i will have them check my VIN for any updates.... J
