I brought a used 14' cherokee sport with about 27,000 miles on it 1 day ago, and I am experiencing most of the concerns that are discussed on some threads. The rough shifting from gears 1-4, occasionally the car balks forward in those gears. When I decelerate and take my foot off the gas at speeds above 40 you would think i put my foot on the brakes. Also it takes a while for the car to actual accelerate. Now when I brought this car from the dealer I first went to the chevy department for a equinox, but I liked the cherokee and the chevy sales man didn't hesitate to sale me the car. The salesman just mentioned the basics specs of the car; and the only thing he mentioned about the transmission was that it was a 9 speed; nothing about the AL. I only found that out when I started searching about the concerns the car was giving me. I love the car except for the transmission concerns, but honestly I'm starting not to want it anymore with all the complaints about the transmission. I'm just stuck and came here for a bit of advice, I'm really just mad at my self for not researching the car prior.
So I plan on going to the dealership tomorrow, but the jeep department. I don't know if I qualify for a buy back since I only had the car 2 day. I'm also thinking about telling them to reset the codes on the transmission, and check for updates. I read that you have to train the AL, and that it is best to train it on long road trips. Tuesday afternoon I'm driving my car 5 hours to Pittsburgh, to look at apartments before I go back to school. My final concern is did any of these problems get fixed for most people.
