I use my ScanGauge to see what gear it's in. You can set the gauge to show many different functions as it's plugged to the OBDII reader in the vehicle. One of those options is "Current Gear". I also like set another of the 4 gauges to show "GPH" gallons per hour as it really lets you see where the best fuel efficiency at a given RPM. Normally get 21mpg in the city and 26 mpg Hwy. @ 74 mph.

It works--I found it on here myself several months ago by another poster. Basically, all you have to do is pull your shifter over to the left when in D and then either pull it up or down to the small letter reads 9 and then you will see every time it shifts when going forward. I do enjoy seeing where mine shifts at every gear and how it does going up and down inclines.

I just went out to the garage to try it. I've done this before: if I move the lever to the left, it says 1 and will stay in 1 until I move the lever to 2. By pulling the lever back, and going all the way to 9 must change the transmission from manual mode back to auto mode (I'm guessing!). I'll try it out in the AM. It's like another Easter Egg!

Yeah, if you put it in 9th with your lever that only means it will not go any higher than 9th (which of course is all you have anyhow) and you will see all the shifting it does in the forward gears. It is fun for me to see what it is doing and if I notice any hard shifting at particular gear changes which I haven't felt any on my current TH.

I can do this in my 2015 as well. Up to the lower gears, down to the higher gears (should be the other way around but whatever).
