If they used a new version of the transmission in the Cherokee in 2015, did they do the same for the 200? I know the 200 used different transmission versions for the i4 vs V6, but are the same transmissions as in the Cherokee?
There may not be a "new version", per se. There are hundreds of thousands of 2014 and early 2015 transmissions that don't have the C-Clutch snap ring problem. Maybe better viewed as a huge batch of flawed transmissions
installed in some of the 2014/2015 Cherokees (KL) and the 200 (UF). On the other hand, how would I know
? The following is from one of the later of a string of TSBs related to the bad transmissions:
*KL vehicles equipped with a 2.4L Engine (Sales Codes ED6/ED8) and
a 948TE 9 speed automatic transmission (Sales Codes DFH or DFJ).
KL vehicles built after March 02, 2015 (MDH 0302XX) equipped with a
3.2L Engine (Sales Code EHB) and a 948TE 9 speed automatic
transmission (Sales Codes DFH or DFJ).
UF vehicles equipped with a 2.4L Engine (Sales Codes ED6, ED8, EDD,
or EDE) and a 948TE 9 speed automatic transmission (sales code DFH).
UF vehicles equipped with 3.6L Engine (Sales Code ERB) and a 9HP48
9 speed automatic transmission (Sales Code DF5).
