No problem. I read somewhere else on the forum that the KO2's for the 265/65-17's are not as wide shoulder to shoulder as the Duratracs. Before adding the additional rear support for the load floor, the rubber feet on the red air tank sitting in the middle of the spare contacted the load floor before the tire and the floor was still about 3/8" below the original height when closed. With the additional support, the floor now sits level to the the original closed height.

you don't need 265/65/17 for a spare you can get 245/70/17 for a spare because it is the same height 30.5 but not as wide that what I did

I prefer having an exact match to the other four tires. This gives you the opportunity to move the new tire to one of the regular wheels in case of wear or puncture issues that have been repaired. For example, if I had one tire that had a puncture and was repaired (internal patch, no plugging for a permanent repair), I would have the shop move the tire from the spare rim to a regular rim and have the repaired tire mounted on the spare rim for emergency use. Worst case cost would be having to pay for one additional mount and balance. Repairing a tire with a plug is ok temporarily if you don't have any other choice (two flats in a row out in the middle of nowhere is a really bad day). At the first opportunity, I would have the plugged tire repaired with an internal patch. If something goes wrong with a plug, it is possible for air to get into the multiple layers that make up the tire and cause a tread separation at the worst possible time.

Only thing wrong with that is when the tires get worn out the you be replacing 3 tires at a time

To each his/her own... too many unknown variables for the conclusion.

If you are that concerned with wearing all of the tires at the same rate I would suggest getting a fifth matching wheel and doing a five tire rotation scheme.

As far as getting a different size tire for the spare (same overall diameter, narrower shoulder to shoulder width due to less base tread width but higher aspect ratio), I don't see the reason for doing that if a matching spare will still fit in the existing well. You essentially lock yourself into a dedicated spare that you will get limited use out of over it's lifetime. The matching tire gives you options that would otherwise be unavailable if something unforeseen were to happen.
