Firestone Dealer Too Care of Me

Stopped by my local Dealer and asked about my Destination LE2's wear. Were down to 2/32 in only 30K. Offered me 300 in credit for all 4. Was able to get 4 Bridgestone Duelers HL Alenza Plus tires installed with Road Hazard for 390 bucks. Thinking its a pretty good deal. Moved up to 235/65/17, like the look with the little xtra size. Ride great. Just some info if anyone else feels your getting excess wear and are fence about trying to get some credit.

70,000 mile tread life warranty. I put these on my Nitro and Journey and I can not say enough good things about these tires! Awesome. Both sets looked like they would last 70,000. I went one size bigger on both vehicles. It threw the speedometer off a little. I just set the cruise by the GPS reading. I traded the 2011 Nitro on the 2014 Journey Crossroad, and that on my TH. When the Factory Firestones need to be replaced, I will definitely go for a Bridgestone replacement, one with a more aggressive tread for my TH, maybe one size bigger to 255s. Do you know if a 255 will fit in the spare well? I read somewhere on The Forum that 265 will not.

@dhh3 ;

IIRC, a 255mm wide tire will fit in the spare compartment height-wise ; height laying flat = tire width. Now you also need to consider the overall diameter as a possible fit limitation ; say a 255/65/17 may fit but a 255/70/17 may not because of diameter.

Suggestion : before you make the move to a bigger tire, ask on the forum again, but with a specific tire size in mind (width and aspect ratio). The guys with lifts will be able to tell you from experience.

Heard good things about Duelers HL Alenza. For looks and performance, nitto tires and Goodyear duratrac are popular choice around here for wet and mud roads.

It was a dealer in Fort Mill, SC, just outside of Charlotte. Was pretty happy with the result.
