TH wheels on Latitude

I'm a new owner of a 3.2 ADII Latitude and want black wheels. I've looked at what's available and really like the black Replika TH wheels but am concerned about the 31mm offset and 7.5' width. My stock wheels are 7" wide and 41mm so the TH wheels would stick out 5/8" more and the 245/65/17 tires I plan to run they would stick out at least 3/4" more. That doesn't seem like much but the stock tires are already pretty flush.

I know plenty of people must be running TH wheels on non-TH Cherokees; how bad is the mess without the wider TH fender flares? What can be done to keep from throwing slop all over the side of the car? TIA.

You can install the Mopar contoured mud flaps. These will not fit a TH. Problem solved!

I got these black aftermarket wheels for my winter set...I think I like them better than the stock silver mags. I've got a better side view pic of the wheels, but am having trouble uploading it for now.

Hey Fred, and welcome to the forum !

Yes it's been done many times and I really don't think you need to worry. And as @dhh3 mentionned, there are always mud flaps available.

I have to question your numbers a little bit though :
1) Offset is 10mm difference, so 2/5" more out, not 5/8" (one inch = 25.4mm)
2) Wheel width : has no effect of tire position.
3) 245 vs 225 wide is 20mm difference, which is less than one inch (4/5"), but also split on either side of center so you need to divide by 2... which means 10mm more out (2/5").
So total : 4/5", which isn't a lot.

Enjoy the Replikas !

Your Cherokee looks great. I'm still deciding between the black/machined wheels which match the Latitude chrome and silver well or solid black wheels and blackout the emblems, window trim, grill and roof rails. Thanks.

Nice wheels. I'm kind of partial to 5 spoke wheels. Considering these:

Thanks.

Thanks. I used a rim and tire calculator and rounded to the nearest 1/8" for simplicity sake.

If I read that right, the 245 on a +31mm offset wheel sticks out 20mm more, which is the same number I got, so no worries.

We have a few forum members who have bought Tourens. If their 5X110 17s are all built with the same basic specs, those should have +42mm offset, so less of a worry for you as far as tires sticking out...

Those are nice. I also like these a lot. I do wish there more finish options than matte black. Maybe satin.

Yes, they are +42mm offset and I do like that better than the TH's 31mm. I guess I'm more concerned with practicality than appearance.

Anyway, I've decided to wait a bit on the wheels and trim color change. Too many other things going on right now.
