I had a $20 off promo code and the price was about $106 per tire. That price was lower than anywhere else by about $20 per tire. I think it may have been a mistake but they honored it. I almost got the Coopers from them for $460 shipped but I waited too long and they raised the price by $25 per tire. Maybe try pricing other tires you like and you might find a similar deal. They change their prices a lot.

I just checked and they have the Coopers for $128 per tire now. That's a great price for them.

We just got back from a four day off-roading trip to Joshua Tree National Park with a buddy with a Wrangler. We traveled all of the Old Dale Road from Cottonwood to Twentynine Palms with a side expedition on the Brooklyn Mine Road. He has new KO2's and I had my new AT51's. We went through some very steep, rocky, and sandy terrain with confidence and I would say both tire brands did well. I got mired in some very deep sand until I engaged 4WL, Lock, and Rock and the TH just emerged from the sand pit to everyone's amazement including me. The CJ owner was disappointed he didn't have a chance to pull me out.
The trip ended last night with dinner and stay at Pioneer Town and a nice quiet, smooth ride back home.

honestly never tried the Coopers but I've had BFG A/T and Wranglers on loads of different vehicles here in the Southeast and never had an issue.
Having not started the survey or this thread I only included them because they were part of my personal experience and sample group.

I hesitantly went with the Coopers, never having owned a set before, and have been more than pleasantly surprised at their performance, especially on rock with their tenacious mechanical keying tendencies and the best sand performance I've experienced to date short of paddle treads.

That sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't done any serious off-roading, possibly none comparable to what you just described, in many years now but can't wait to get back into it. I had my new Hankooks installed today so all I need now is time and place. After weeks of www research, this poll and thread I am pretty much convinced that all of these AT tires are similarly capable, if perhaps slightly different in those capabilities. I would be equally happy with a set of AT51's myself but couldn't pass up the great deal I got on these Dynapros.

Happy trails, friend.

...now that we are home, I looked at the reported mpg's and with the new AT51's got a solid 2 mpg gain from 23 to 25. Go figure because they are supposed to be the same size as the Firestones. Any ideas why ?

Less rolling resistance perhaps, higher pressure?

Sometimes when I check my actual mpg vs the trip computer they match, other times the trip computer is optimistic by up to 2 mpg. Even a small change in tire diameter could introduce some error into the trip PC's mpg estimate. A few years back I turbocharged a car and added larger fuel injectors. The trip pc then reported 20% better mpg because the larger injectors changed the fuel trims by 20%.

Optimistically it would be great if the AT51's have such low rolling resistance that they provided a 2 mpg increase in fuel economy but that's not very likely. My guess is a combination of factors, possibly including slightly lower rolling resistance, culminating in the trip PC reporting a 2 mpg increase that will likely diminish as the miles go by.
