Question Need New Brakes...and Rotors

Hello,

Have any of you replaced your brake pads and rotors? Any special tools needed like on an Audi? Anyone have any ideas on where to pull the torque specs from without paying for the Mopar tech manual Site? I am thinking of doing it over the 4th of July weekend, when I can take some time away from school (I am now in Grad school...18 months of busy).

Thanks in advance.

2015 Trailhawk - Eco Green, 3.2L, Nav, Tow, Cold Weather. MODS: Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain ProGrades 245/70R17; WeatherTech mats, vent shades; Magnaflow exhaust. Rigid SR 20" bar and Rock Lights. JW Speaker fog lights. Blue Ridge Overland Gear panels and bags. Pelican tool box loaded! Bubba Rope and Gators too. Much more....

Trailer: Custom built Montrose aluminum 4.5'Wx6'Lx3'H off-road utility with 3,500 lb Dexter torsion axle. Known as the Zombie Escape Trailer.

I don't think it's too difficult. I paid to have mine done. Rotors and pads were in the 300$ range. Can't speak for tools or anything like that.

I could pay to have mine done too...but I just like wrenching and it is a great excuse to get some of my very expansive tool collection dirty. But, I do a job right. If no one chimes up in the next day or so, I'll just have to do the few day access on the Mopar Tech Site. .

I just went out and looked. E20 female socket for front mounting bolts and T55 male socket for rear mounting bolts. I have both, so no problem there.

you'll also need preferably an impact socket to get the retaining bolt out for the rotor. i stripped my first one and had to take it to work and have a tech do mine. after the third tool and/or bolt failure i decided to leave it up to a mechanic to do.

Ouch. Do you remember what size the bolt head was?

Not even a little lol. It was a hex head IIRC.

Sort of a hack job with the tools, but it shows the process.

So many Mopar options for OEM rotors! Even with my VIN...the Mopar Sites have too many options.
