To add to what I said before, one of the reasons I love this forum is the ability to ask one another about issues we have with our cars and individual discrepancies. I'm tired of going to the shop with an issue, no matter how small, have a shop manager brush me off by telling me it's normal only to realize later that it's not. We need to hold our dealerships accountable when we have problems. We should demand better customer satisfaction otherwise we'll be taken for granted.

Are you talking about the clink noise when you take your foot off the brake? If so I believe it's normal. Mine has done that since day 1 and I have great brakes. I believe it is just a slighly louder than average brake relay that clicks when it returns ro the ready position.

Mine clinks and squeaks as described. "Normal" maybe not, but it wasn't worth me trying to get them to fix ... I've had other vehicles that do exactly the same thing. I figured it was exactly as someone else said, and a lubrication issue on the pedal itself.

My Latitude just started making the noise this week at 2119 miles. It comes and goes. Only happens when the pedal is released. This is really annoying. Of all the cars I have owned, this is the first one that has done this.

Mine does it once in a while as well. My 2005 C300 did the same thing.

OMG, I have got the same thing!! I bought my LTD almost 4weeks ago and started clinking after 2 weeks drive. I only drive to work 3days a week and so far only got less than 900KM.
The clinking noise only happens when I rapidly release the pedal after a full stop. No noise occurs when the pedal is being released slowly.

I will have a new car first inspection with dealer this Saturday and see if they can find out the problem.

Mine makes the *clink* noise as well when releasing the brake. Assumed return spring.
