Mine's in for it's first 3000km oil change and I have a squeal that's constant and as above, sounds like the warning squealers on the brake pads, but it's not because it's only 3,000 km.
I was driving aroud the parkade looking for a spot and I hear it with the window down, definitely from under the car, not interior. It's constant, like a squeaky wagon wheel. I'll post an update tonight if they figure it out at the dealer. Best they could come up with so far was...'that's weird'

Also getting a software upgrade, when I asked why, they said, its for the trans module and it is perfectly normal. Car companys are always upgrading the software, maybe it'll fix a few things like lousy mileage, thunking shifts, no acceleration when I round a bend and head up a hill..... Okay, lets go....okay.....now...lets goooooooo.....any time now......thunk

Sounds like asking them to check that bracket piece is one lead.

yeah yeah...just the first service interval on a new car. It's not like it gets changed every 3000km. My Triumph Tiger's first oil change was at 500km.
They did find the source of the squeal. On this...a brand new 2015 Jeep Cherokee 4X4. I guess I must have gone on a gravel road or something.
Here is what they dug out from between the rotor and the brake pad.....

Check your wheels, Cherokee owners! And avoid gravel roads, I guess

forgot the photo.....

actually, I have no idea how to post a photo.

Just remembered what I hate about these vehicle forums. I come here looking for info and ideas about my new car and end up being made to look like an fool for posting an inocuous comment like...I took my car in for it's first oil change.

Thanks Kevin from Kamloops!

Sorry if I offended ? But if i didn't say it someone else would have , I mean it is a bit silly changing oil at 3000 km , Thats only 1800 miles , Its just a waste of your money and more money in the dealers pocket . Just trying to help and have a bit of a laugh at the same time .

If that is what is required as a scheduled maintenance interval....so be it.

Anyway, I got it wrong, the rock was between the rotor and the backing plate, Right rear wheel, Not something I would have found, SO I'm glad I did take it for its 3000km service and probably saved myself the cost of a rotor.

Seems kind of fragile for a Jeep to get a rock stuck in it's rotor. Aren't they built for this stuff? I drove my Jimmy along gravel logging roads at stupid speeds for hours and never once had a problem with rocks getting stuck where they shouldn't. Nor on a 1983 Subaru 1800 wagon, which I drove through the Sooke river the first weekend I had it.
