Service guy is leaning towards blocked drain holes in the sunroof but I didn't have any other symptoms to suggest this was the culprit, like wet floor etc. I know there was a recall for water getting into the back hatch and causing problems, maybe that was it. The part required isn't in Australia at present and may take at least 2 weeks to get here.
Here we go, I'm thinking, all the Jeep service complaints I read about may have some traction. I then read that Jeep sales are down 50% in Australia and my heart sank a bit lower. Last night I received a call from a car rental company. They are delivering, to my door, a hire car to use while my car is out of service. When my car is ready, I can drop it at the dealership and they will pick it up and I drive my car home. That is great I thinks, I can deal with a Corolla or Hyundai in the interim.
A brand new Chrysler Pimp model, sorry, 300C, turned up this morning.
How good is that!
Cars have problems and things can go south after that, like no parts in the country, the company's response is how you judge them.
I still love my Jeep, and more than happy with the way they are handling this.
You have a 300 in the interim? That's great. I had one of those as a loan vehicle for the day when the KL was being serviced. Love it.

Interesting - Re: the water in the wheel well, it reminds me of an Aust owner a few years ago (one of the first adopter's - so early 2014 it was), that had an issue with the electric park brake and they couldn't figure it out until after extensive investigation they also found fouled water in the wheel well. In his case, it appeared to have happened either prior to loading on the boat or after it had arrived here but did not raise it's ugly head until months after he took delivery. You're the second instance then that I've heard about this now.

In his case, they did fix it all up and he was happy - hope that stays true for you. In the meantime, enjoy the 300!

Glad to hear I'm not the first! When I think about it, I can't recall even looking there since my initial new-car go-over, haven't needed to.

Nope, still driving around threatening the hood, and fielding calls similar to one just a little while ago, that usually have 2 words "You didn't?"
Haven't heard a word from the dealership, which means the part is still in transit. They said 2 weeks anyway, so today was week 1, I'll inquire on Friday if I haven't heard anything by then.
I'm finding the pimp mobile is slung a lot lower than the Jeep. A lot lower, but the scraping is becoming less and less as time goes on.

I'll check back in with you next week then, in the meantime, try and keep that front fascia in one piece on the 300.

It ain't pimp if it ain't low! Hopefully, you've completed the picture by cranking up the stereo until the doors buzz and pedestrians stop and stare. And then there's that almost imperceptible head-bob that lets the world know you know you're riding low and slow. A few gold-plated nugget rings on your driving hand wouldn't hurt. If you're rockin' the ride, you may as well live The Life! One last word: fedora!

Said farewell to the pimp ride today, which is good, the gold chains were starting to give me a rash. Funny, the wheel arch molding grew ears while it was in the shop. (Must be the recall I was advised about). If anyone asks, I just had flared guards fitted.

Good to read you're back in the KL Flipper. Are you happy with the repair and dealer/FCA response to the issue?

To be honest, I don't mind the look of the back ones, the front ones look a bit ordinary, it looks like it has just been stuck on, would have preferred if they had just embraced it and made them a bit more stylish.
