Weekend run up to the Sunshine coast

Went up to the Sunshine Coast on the weekend. It was a 685Km run one way. I reset the trip meter at Caloundra for the trip home and the Jeep averaged 6.3. I reckon that's not too bad in view that I had traffic on both the Coast and in Toowoomba to contend with plus a range climb up to Toowoomba. I am sure the fuel economy also got knocked around a bit by the Ambient temp as it got up to 37 between Goondiwindi and Moree. The Limited is just a great vehicle to drive long distances in. When travelling out on the flat plains, the Limited just sits in 9th gear at about 1550RPM in the 110kph zones. BTW I saw 5 Cherokees in total on this trip:smile:. Later this week I have to take the Jeep in for its 50,000km service which is now well overdue. I will post a report on the service later. Unusually the ESS has started working again after reporting to Jeep at the last service that it had not worked for over 12months and then being told that the battery is on the way out. In the preceding 12 months I have done a number of long trips that kind of dispels the battery run down myth????
I had to laugh, when looking at our car in the resort car park, it stuck out like a dogs ......... It was not hard to tell which were the city cars and which came from the bush. Our car was covered in dust, mud, crushed bugs and had a Bullbar fitted as compared to the immaculately polished cars and SUVs next to and near it.
Anyway that's my lot for today.
Cheers
