The wiring in yours is how it should be with the white and brown connected to the two silver connectors. Oliver has pulled his out and joined them together so that it doesn't activate when the socket lid is opened.

I suspect the brown and white cables have not been connected inside the truck. It appears a few Oz vehicles are wired without the switch in circuit. I have taken mine out of circuit. I don't like the sensors being turned off except when I want them off.
