Lightbulb Trailer socket

Howdy all!

Anybody here either in Oz or NZ modded/not installed the magnetic reed switch in the trailer socket that deactivates the park sensors?
After 3 starts the ODO flashes and a message pops up that the Park Sensors need servicing. I know the switch just kills the power to that module which seems kinda crude really!

Love to hear!!

Oliver

No iPhone for me thanks.

Hmm. Mine has the factory wiring but does not have the reed switch that I am aware of. I have to remember to turn of the sensors before reversing or the brakes slam on halfway down the boat ramp...

Cheers, Dave.

Hi David,

I have one of the auto braking things switched off as annoyed the **** out of me as I backed out of my garage

Does your trailer socket have the Mopar wording on it?

Oliver

Hmm.. just went for a closer look and yes it is a Mopar branded socket and has the magnet glued into the cover and the epoxy filled section I presume is the reed switch. So looks like all the bots are there but it definitely does not disable any of the nanny systems when a trailer is hooked up!

Anyone else in Australia able to chime in on if their's auto disables?

Hi David,

They may not have installed that circuit on yours. It's better if they don't!!! I have bypassed mine now.

Hi all,

Here are some pix of mine.

The 2 'other' connectors are the reed switch.

Haven't pulled the cover off mine to look at the wiring but the magnet and embedded reed look identical to that.
