Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

I want to set up a group activity by taking Washington Backcountry Discovery Route from Hood river to as far as we can go it three or four days. The map says that it takes 9 days ti make it to the Canadian Border. I will be taking an off road camper. I would like to have a groupe of Cherokee's to take it with me. I am looking for dates to so this maybe in May or July. Please let me know what dates and number of days that you would be interested in trying so I can put this together tents teardrops and any campers that can handle dirt trails are welcome. The web site for the route http://www.backcountrydiscoveryroutes.com/WABDR

I plan to run parts of the trail on weekends to check for clearance for my trailer and post pictures here.

I am also going to the Evans creek ORV run in March to camp and go on the trails. We could use it as a first meet and greet before setting off on a bigger journey?

@Pondhopper, @Treaty Maybe we should have an admin move this to the Road Trip section for more views?

I had not planned on heading into WA. However, I think this would be a very cool idea. I will be in the area circa the late part of June, early part of July. If the schedules are anywhere close, I think we can make it work. I would just adjust some of my road trip routes.

I think you may have me confused for a Moderator. @gravitywell should be able to move it for you though.

If you are referring to your trip, I think you'll have an amazing time.

That would have been a wonderful trip for us when lived in Washington and had the '96 Cherokee. Now, at 83 years of age, I have to limit our off roading to shorter day trips and find a motel every night. I hope that everything goes well for you and that you have a wonderful experience. And we'll be looking forward to your story! - Ted.
