Holiday Road Trip
Many know, I'm heading to Washington state for the holidays. Leaving from Fort Worth, Tx the night of the 4th. Driving through New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and finally into Washington.
It's 3 humans and a sphynx cat. The cat, lucky him, gets the whole cargo area to himself. We bought him a 55w 12v heated blanket to stay warm in the really cold temps we are about to drive through.
I am the only driver and we will only be doing rest area/truck stop naps, basically driving straight through.
The front USB port will charge my phone. The center console outlet is going to have a dual 2.5amp USB charger (true dual 2.5amp). It's going to be charging my iPad Pro and my daughters Galaxy Tab S2. The center console USB is going to charge my fiancés' phone.
The inverter is going to running a 3 USB port 4 house hold port splitter that I've converted to have 6 USB ports via a USB hub. That is going to run a MacBook Pro laptop charger, my camera, my mophie battery bank, and two Apple watches.
The hitch is holding a rather large 60" cargo carrier that is going to have my military tough box that will store anything not affected by sub zero temperatures.
On the roof will be my typical stuff plus a large collapsible dog crate which will be strapped to the rack.
Taking extra fuel, emergency supplies, blankets, clothes, water, etc.
I plan to be in Washington by Wednesday at the latest due to a winter storm system due to sweep across the Rockies.
I've made this trip a dozen times or so and twice before in the winter in far less capable vehicles. I'm a storm chaser and a search and rescue volunteer. So please understand I have taken steps to ensure my family is protected and we'll take care of.
Oh and in addition I'll have two pistols and about 1500 rounds of ammo. Plan to do some shooting with the old man when I get home, see if I can beat him yet target shooting.
