No Man's Land

crazy road trip, from Toronto all the way to Attawapiskat, the most northernly connected town in Ontario, driving up there is only possible in the winter time with the opening of their winter ice roads.

The KL is probably not heavy enough to induce cracking on the ice roads, but they can still induce a bit of a pucker, eh?

Nice photos, looks like a nice drive.

I would love to travel a road like that...
@phatgreatwall : how was fuel range with such an isolated road ?
Did you need to carry extra gas ?

Amaizing. Wish I could drive with you. Looked it up on map. It is really far. I am glad you did not get lost, maybe you did, I don't know

Google Maps says that it cannot tell me the driving distance from Toronto to Attawapiskat @phatgreatwall. How far is that? How long did it take you? Having driven all over AB, SK, NWT and YK, I know how far between gas stations it can be!

2015 Trailhawk - Eco Green, 3.2L, Nav, Tow, Cold Weather. MODS: Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain ProGrades 245/70R17; WeatherTech mats, vent shades; Magnaflow exhaust. Rigid SR 20" bar and Rock Lights. JW Speaker fog lights. Blue Ridge Overland Gear panels and bags. Pelican tool box loaded! Bubba Rope and Gators too. Much more....

Trailer: Custom built Montrose aluminum 4.5'Wx6'Lx3'H off-road utility with 3,500 lb Dexter torsion axle. Known as the Zombie Escape Trailer.

I went through ice on a snowmobile once... Luckily I was in shallow waters (waist high, brrrrrrr..). I went through because we asked for it : it was April and we knew ice was thin.
With these ice roads, big rigs have to drive on them so I wouldn't be worried one bit with a passenger vehicule.
Me and my buddies used to hop onto the lake here, mid-town, with our cars and pick-up trucks. Man that was fun...

But yeah being a little nervous keeps us honest. And safe
