800 static for the Cherokee specifically ? If so, that is surprising to me. But if Gobi says it's 800, it's their butt on the line..

But is that 800 for their rack or for the actual roof of the vehicle? There isn't much under there supporting I don't think. I mean I hope I am wrong because roof tents are awesome! I just didn't think we could do them.

Not sure myself. But I've had the weight of the rack, spare tire, hi lift, axe, shovel, lights, wiring and two guys each weighing over 200lbs on the roof of mine to take photos without any issue.

Those are the absolute coolest, I would love to have one! Only issue I see is how to get my 70 lb pup in there. She likes to snuggle.

Here are the specs for the Stealth Rack, and it says Cherokee 2014 in the title :

800 lbs static. I'm still surprised...

I'm building one to look just like the gobi stealth and hold roughy 450 moving weight and 800-900 static weight.
