Greetings all! My dealership has sold vehicles to several people who have gone to Chaos Offroad Park in WV. My KL was the very first to tackle the rough mountain, and that was in bone-stock Latitude form (which, in retrospect, i should have never done). The owner of the park has asked my dealership to send as many people to them as they can to help boost their business, and they will in turn do the same for my store. I thought to myself, "self, how else can i help them and myself at the same time?" and self said "organize a JCC trip!"
Chaos works a little differently than places like Roush Creek. They ONLY allow offroading events on specified dates, allowing for a somewhat private event. My plans are to contact the owner and see if JCC can get our own private day with just us and the mountain all to ourselves! However, if that is not possible, we will simply be joining an existing event.
Chaos Offroad Park is located in Capon Bridge, WV. Their website can be found here.
They have several trails of varying difficulty, from trails that a stock KL can do (like mine was), all the way up to extreme buggys and beyond. The owner was super cool when i went and escorted me himself up the mountain in his TJ Rubicon.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of this event, 4WD Low is REQUIRED
to attend. It's not that we don't want all of our JCC friends to participate, but an AD-1 KL will not
be able to successfully be able to climb the mountain. This means that this event will be restricted to Trailhawk models and KLs with Active Drive 2 ONLY. Also, despite my success in climbing the mountain on stock Firestone street tires, due to the rocks and clay, AT tires are highly recommended, but will not be required to attend.
For now, details are sparse since i have not contacted the owners yet, but i will ask a moderator to keep all relevant data in post 1 below for clarity as details unfold. So, who's in?? Please tag any mid-atlantic members who may attend!
