Hidden light bar in grille?

Hey, Just wondering if anyone has mounted a light bar on the bumper but inside so it is hidden behind the lower grille on the TH? Is that bad to do? I attached an example image of where I am talking about

I think I have seen one, but I'm not 100% where the thread is. However, it seems that the grille would really reduce the amount of usable light output from the bar.

I've seen one where it was mounted outside the grille and looked really good. (Once again; no clue where the thread is)

Sits well down there if you dont have the Tech pack, otherwise the radar dome is in the way. Thats where mine was going to go... yep I am pretty sure its mudman.

Mine is above the bumper for that reason!

when I was doing my light bar research, I found another forum member mounted theirs down there, but relocated it shortly after due to snow and ice buildup on the light bar in the winter. it doesn't get hot while in use, so it wasn't melting the snow off of it, making it completely unusable. now, that shouldn't be an enormous issue to you being you live in Arizona lol

This winter I'm gonna test a theory for keeping led lights clear in the winter. That theory being WD40. It's a trick I've used in the past for antennas but I never considered it for my led lights. I've also heard diesel works too for plows.

I do not think it is easy to remove the lower grill. People say you need to remove the whole bumper. Because of that, many people including myself gave up the idea of led behind the grill.

Interesting idea for LEDs...I use WD40 on my snow blower in the winter if I run out of silicone and it does a pretty good job of keeping the guts free from stuck-on snow. Although WD40 is pretty tame, I would test on an inconspicuous spot on the lens first to make sure it doesn't damage the clarity of the plastic lens. If the lenses are glass, then no worries...

I'm not sure if any 'slippery' chemical will help on a flat surface that is not subject to wind cleaning (like the slope of a windshield) as the snow may just build up on the face if there is a ridge of plastic around the lens.

Actually, as I wrote the above, I just thought about Rain-X....maybe that is worth a shot as well.
