Car wrap idea

So I have been kicking around getting my car wrapped in an all matte black exterior. I am now kicking around just getting the roof and hood and possibly the back hatch wrapped in matte black for a kind of two tone look. Since my car is brilliant black right now.

Does anyone have any experience out there with wraps? Do they last a long time? Has anyone done this before that would be willing to post pics so I have an idea how it would look before I spend the money lol. Any help is greatly appreciated. I will of course post pics when it is done. Just wanted some opinion on the matte black- brilliant black combo. Thank you in advance for your time. I saw a thread where someone wrapped the whole car in Matte green and matte black but not two tone.

Good luck with your idea. Sounds like it will look nice. Sorry, no experience with that here. I don't have experience with wraps. Except those found at the local delicatessen....

There was someone on here that wrapped theirs military green matte it looked pretty good. I'm sure if you find a shop that specializes in wraps they can use quality that will last a good amount of time. Your 2 tone idea sounds nice.

Thanks! The local shop quoted me 1950 for the whole car so I'm hoping it will be cheaper to just do the hood and roof. Not sure yet about the hatch.

We were kicking around the idea of getting our new Subaru Outback wrapped in a nice metallic orange before my wife test drive a Cherokee and we bought one. Fortunately Jeep colours are better and we didn't have to compromise.

From what I discovered during researching wrapping, it may only last 2-3 years, depending on where it's parked. It should last longer if you keep the vehicle in a garage, but even if it lasts 5 years, the cost is significant. Since your Cherokee is already black, I wonder if it's possible to simply add a matte finish to the parts you want?

I have had my roof wrapped in black gloss vinyl for 3 years. It's posted somewhere as "Roof Wrapped and Ceramic tints". I got a deal for about $450 (CDN - Toronto) for my tints and 3M wrap. I think it looks pretty good. Black roofs seem to make the car lower in visual appearance and this makes it stand out from most other cross overs. $2k for a full car is also pretty good. I got an estimate of over $3k (CDN - Toronto) for a basic metallic white whole car wrap for my previous CUV.

No problems with durability and my car is parked outside in our Canadian winters. It's not perfect, but I didn't do any type of wax maintenance on it or on the car at all. The fade-age level has matched the 2014 Cherokee. You can keep as eye out for bubbling but the installer should provide a warranty against that. I don't know what the paint looks like after the removal but theoretically, it should act like a barrier of protection similar to a "Clear Bra" type product.

I have a wrap that I had put on 3-6-15 Almost 2 years but my jeep hides in a garage as I work from home and goes out only for trips and shopping, so far it looks as good as when I got it. Also you might check for a guy in San Francisco that has Cherokee's that are wrapped for use as a taxi
