Flexidipping exterior window trim red

I am in the process of plastidipping my weather seals (I think that's what they're called). It's proved rather difficult as i am doing this with them attached to the vehicle as i am unsure of how to take them off and whether it would cause damage. Anyone have any suggestions or any knowledge of an easier/alternative method

Everything I have seen is people using painter's tape and newspaper to mask it off. Are you talking about the actual seal or the chrome part?

I assume he's talking about the exterior trim around the perimeter of the windows, not the actual weather stripping where the inside edge of the door meets the frame. I would definitely not paint the weather stripping, as it could reduce its effectiveness in 2 ways: messing up the material's flexibility, as well as changing its finish. If it is indeed the exterior window trim we're talking about, I wouldn't even attempt to remove this piece. I would mask off everything around it and paint it in place. Once you take that thing off I really don't see it ever going back on the same way again.

I opted to do vinyl instead, i can choose either satin red or matte red, I almost feel like the satin will be better, but I need to make sure they can do a trim on the hood decal as well.

That's a good idea, I'm going the vinyl route as well.

I plastidipped mine black while on the car. Only place that gave me problems was around the small rear windows. Didn't wanna peel off like it should. I think im going to redo it and go the vinyl route as well though
