Sorry HF. Any explanation as to why?
None ... it seems that in Canada even the dealers don't have much information about customer's orders. He can access a screen that shows current status for their orders and print off a POC (Priced Order Confirmation) for me. I have the POC showing the former D1 status with the Estimated Ship date. But beyond that, they can only turn to the Chrysler Rep for additional information, which seems to be scant at best.
I have called the Canadian Chrysler-Jeep Customer Service. They were no help since they said they don't have access to the VOT system. I then phoned the USA Chrysler-Jeep Customer Service. Since my VIN is for a Canadian order, they can't see it on their VOT. This person put me on hold while she called her equivalent at the Canadian Customer Service office. When she came back to me, she confirmed that the Canadian office doesn't have access to VOT. So as my dealership Sales Manager says, we are at the mercy of the factory.
There may be some truth to the growing feeling that Canadian orders take second place to American orders.
As I have stated in another thread or forum, I can be rather stubborn about some things ... and this adventure has become one of those. So I am going to wait this out to see if / when I do get my Eco Green Cherokee. Or see what happens if they do cancel the colour as rumoured in other threads.
Who knows, it may be a 2015 model by the time Jeep builds one for me. Even if it is a 2014, it should have all the firmware and other updates applied and that is a good thing.
It's just that this was a perfect winter to enjoy a 4x4 Jeep. The winter rims, tires and TPMS sensors I ordered in January (but haven't yet paid for) are assembled and waiting for me but will now stay with the tire dealer until next winter.
Luckily, the 2007 Matrix I am driving, and will be my trade-in, is in great shape and is running well. And the dealer is committed in writing to the amount of trade-in allowance negotiated last December.
So, I am resigned to waiting but with the positive belief the Cherokee is worth this aggravation. I would not be so charitable for any other vehicle in this segment.
PS: I seems that I get wordier as the frustration increases ... sorry about that!
