I've also just purchased an 18 month old Cherry Red TH. Loving it so far, I didn't realise it was such a rarity here.

My assumption is, regarding TH no longer be available on the UK configurator, that it's just not viable for the UK market. At the price point they sell for, if a person wants increased off road capacity they'll go for a Wrangler, if they want all the comfort they'll go for a Grand Cherokee. Combine that with the new tax laws here that will make vehicles just over the 40k mark undesirable and so few models already being sold, you can understand why they've gone that route.

Really pleased with mine though and looking forward to having it for many years to come.

Very true although in my case it was more a dislike of the black fuel that led me to a TH. Interestingly enough I see Land Rover has just launched 2 new petrol versions of the Disc Sport and the Evoque the top spec one pushing out 290bhp odd so maybe the tide is turning back to petrol here slowly. Not a V6 alas but a 2 litre 4 pot.

BTW have either you UK TH owners had any of the gear box updates applied? I know there are plenty of threads all over the forums on the transmission but I'm getting a couple of interesting behaviors from mine the main bugbear being a complete unwillingness for it to shift out of 2nd when going up a long steep hill. The results in it sitting there screaming at 4k+ revs all the way to the top on the flat when it finally decides to shift up twice. By comparison I can drive up the same hill easily in my mini cooper s in 3rd and get it into 4th way before the TH decides to save my ears and shift cogs. I phoned up the local dealer and asked them to look at the following TSB as it seems to address this plus a couple of other things I'm seeing Transmission shift enhancement TSB dtd 1/6/16 but they claimed they don't know anything about this but would take a look. I've booked it in and will turn up with this printed out but was a little surprised as their lack of knowledge on this.
