I jave now seen a second person with the same issue, but must be reasonably rare since only 2 complaints. Glad they got it sorted for you.

Unhappy Same Issue W/ 2015 Cherokee

I am in Northern California where we are receiving tons of rain and had the same exact issue w/ my 2015 Cherokee last week. Couldn't figure out why it smelled like something had died inside my car and finally pulled up my mats to find the drivers side floor soaked in both the front and back seat areas. Took it to the local dealer where I bought it and after a few days, they figured out it was a leak in a body seam. That was 5 days ago and they are still trying to dry my carpets. I am concerned that the odor is still going to be present because it smelled horrible and there was mold all over the carpet. I also think it is crazy that the leak occurred in the first place; it's a Jeep! This is my first experience owning a Jeep and I have not been impressed thus far. My radio/GPS went out within the first 6 months that I owned it and now this.

Back floor board too?

I have the same issue, except the water is in the front and back passenger side floorboads. Did anyone else have it in both?

Unhappy 2017 Trailhawk - Water Leak

Tomorrow I drop my 2017 Trailhawk off at the dealership for the 3rd time. During the winter, was getting ice buildup on the inside of the windshield. Dealership tried saying it could be cause by moisture from snow being drug into the jeep. Next time it happened, I took a video to show them. They were a little shocked on how much ice there was. However, they still couldn't find a leak. Took it home and decided to look under the floor mats. Passengers side front and back carpet were soaked. Took it back to dealer and they said leak was coming from the cowl section that wasn't sealed properly during manufacturing. They resealed it with foam they use. Last week after heavy rain, carpet was wet again. They are thinking tech was able to get to everything because of the dashboard, so now they are talking about removing the dashboard to get to all the nooks and crannies to seal. Now tonight I noticed drivers back passenger carpet is damp. Also 2 days ago, while accelerating and going up an incline, the jeep starting bucking. Wondering now if I bought a lemon.

I have a 2016 Jeep Trailhawk. Recently the car started smelling like mold/mildew. Terrible odor. The dealer found mold and wet under right back seat carpet. Telling me we mast have spilled something. They checked the ventilation system. No problems found. I know for a fact nothing was spilled back there.. Any body else having this issue?

2016 trailhawk. We've had lots of rain lately. I got into some mud today and was at the carwash. Pulled the front mats and the passenger side was wet before I started washing anything.

I got home and used my shop-vac to pull about 1 1/2 cup of water out from the front and rear passenger footwells. Drivers side front and back seems dry.

4-16 build date, so I hope the tsb applies. Phone call to the dealer tomorrow.

The water in my pic is gross because of the dust in the shop-vac.

Hi g_freeman,

We can check TSBs for you (if you haven't already made contact with the dealership). Just PM your VIN if you wanted us to check.
