Seats uncomfortable, need help!

New to the forum, but posted my lengthy problem on the introduction. My wife is having back and hip problems from the seats, didn't notice any discomfort, while test driving. We have owned 7 Wranglers over the years, no problems. We are odd ducks, as all the reviews like the seats. We currently using a Comformax back cushion, with a Comformax seat cushion on order. The Cherokee is the next step in our retirement, for towing the larger travel trailer we purchased. We like the car and need to make it work. Any help would be appreciated!

Lumbar adjustment may be in order. I find using the heated seat helps release my back pain.

We have the heated seats, unfortunately her back pain is between her shoulder blades, that's why we are trying the cushion, to try to fill in the seat area between the lateral supports.

It may be extreme... And I don't think anyone has looked into it, but maybe you could swap her seat with a Wrangler seat that she's more used to?

I'm not even sure if it's a direct swap, however it may be worth looking into.

No lumbar support in the passenger seat. Need to look at the neighbors Wrangler, to check seat rails measurements. You never know, if it's doable on the seat exchange, will pick some up at a salvage yard.

Is she uncomfortable in the driver seat? If she isn't you could probably swap the passenger seat for a driver seat. The only question I would have is whether you could wire it in and whether there would be any seats belt issues... then again there is the possibility that it just plain wouldn't work

I would suggest consulting a reputable upholstery shop, one accustomed to high end vehicles and inquire about having the seat back modified for her. Seat swap from a Wrangler would be a no go for the Occupant Restraint.

I am an "old duck" too and I have had several KLs since they came out and all of them had the heated seats and I use that year round even here in SC where it may be near a 100 F in the summer. (my wife and I both have some back pain) (noted your wife's pain is higher up in the back) My service manager has had back surgery and he usually can pick the vehicle he wants to drive as part of his salary and he said the KL was the most comfortable seat he has ever had. However, this doesn't help you just because some of us are really happy with the seats (think I am more than the wife). Maybe as some has suggested about changing the seat if possible as that would be the answer other than having to change vehicles--but the seat is really about the most important thing to me too, so understand when it doesn't suit you. I hope your able to find a solution to this problem.
