This deal was extremely frustrating as I bought a 75th Anniversary on August 27 and it was not that great of a deal; had I known about this I would have gotten a Trailhawk, which is what I really wanted to begin with.

Hi everyone, new TH owner here in Charlotte, NC.

Wanted to share my 20% off experience so hopefully others can benefit

End up with a 2016 Black Crystal on Black with:
V6
Comfort
Trailer
Leather
Ventilated Seats
Pano Roof
Nav
9 Speakers
Black Wheels

MSRP: 42,045
- 20% (8409)
-$500 negotiated (not any type of publicized offer/affiliate discount)

I was really targeting 25% off knowing that anyone can get 20% off, I wanted a special deal and was willing to travel around for it, and had received a quote @ 25.5% off MSRP from a dealer in ATL, but when I called to tell him I was on my way the car sold. Don't know if that was ever a deal or a bait and switch, but I appreciate him saving my the 4 hr each way trip.

What pushed me over the edge was knowing that the highly optioned 16's are getting really hard to find, and my car that I traded (2013 370z, don't miss it yet!) needed new tires, breaks and an alignment ASAP at about $2k total, and that if I were to dump the money into it and keep it until the 17s became 20% off I'd never get that money back on a trade, so I bit the bullet and have been cruising around with my A/C seats and heated steering wheel on and not looked back!

No issues so far, mpg is the same and I'm not buying premium gas, only thing is I'm driving a lot more now that I can carry my friends and colleagues around... literally got more looks in the TH the 1st day than a month in the Z, people LOVE the black on black on black look.

Looking to add some HIDs soon and need to get a hitch mount bike rack for my MTB but really happy with the whip so far.

Congratulations on that great looking trail Hawk!

Also your experience can be a great benefit to others. I have always negotiated without regards to using affiliated programs etc.
You can always score a great deal with out them as they just cloud the negotiations in my opinion. The dealer only has so much in the way of consumer and mfg to dealer incentives to play with.
In your situation you got a great deal but more important you got the Cherokee you wanted. Years down the road another $500 or more in savings and not what you exactly wanted is meaningless.
Again if you snooze you lose is the most valuable lesson you can teach as far as getting what you want. You got a great looking Hawk!

I'd agree with that. Would be worth a drive or even a flight to get that kind of discount.
