20% off MSRP program

Just announced yesterday is the 20% off select Cherokee inventory. Disclaimer: I do NOT know if this is country-wide, but it IS in the mid-atlantic business center (MD, DC, VA, PA, etc). How FCA chose the cars is they took a snapshot of each dealer's inventory of Limited and Trailhawk models, sorted by age, and took the oldest 20%. Each car has a rebate in the amount of 20% of the MSRP. Dealer discounts still apply. For example, my dealership has a Cherokee in inventory that has an MSRP of $39,660 and a rebate of $7,932. Including dealer discounts with that and the discounts on select inventory is HUGE! This is the largest discount program I have ever seen in my decade with Chrysler. I don't want to make this sound like an advertisement, because it isn't, but if any forum members in the mid-atlantic area want to take advantage, shoot me a PM and I will do what I can to help. This is a once-in-a-lifetime program that I do not anticipate hanging around for long.

Other models included in this program are:

Ram 1500
300/300C
Charger (excludes SRT/SRT Hellcat)
Journey
UN4GTBL, Mark_, Duke2015 and 1 others like this.

2015 Latitude V6 AD-II
Mods: List was getting too long for my sig, check out my garage for a full list of mods

Ordered and waiting for arrival: RRO brush bumper & pre-runner plate - RRO rock rails - Spot & flood lights mounted to bumper - MFC switch plate w/OTRATTW custom switches

Official test car for the SmartStopStart module program

Please note: on Cherokees, this program is specific to Limited & Trailhawk models only. On the other 4 vehicles, the program is indiscriminate to trim level.

Hey guys, new the forum!!

We are in New England and just bought a near fully loaded V6 limited...MSRP of $42k. We walked out the door paying $30.5k (not a typo). They gave us the 20%, then dropped another ~$2.5k when we told them we actually found the exact Cherokee we wanted at another dealer for $31k that also gave us 20% off. Originally we didn't want the tech package due to the cost, but he asked us that if he beat the other guy by $500, would we take it? With an enthusiastic "yes", we bought it a few minutes later.

Honestly, I'm seriously wondering how we grabbed it so cheap. We searched the vehicle for dents and other forms of damage b/c dropping $11k on a $42k Jeep is something I have never seen before. Any opinions on this?? I thought the dealers didn't have any movement on the 20% off Cherokees, but this guy proved me wrong.

Also, the 20% is also based on "build date" of the truck, plus package (i.e. Limited). I verified there were no mid-year updates by Jeep, it was to do with Jeep believing that if it sat in inventory for so long, there is something that is making it hard to sell. In this case I can see why in the one we grabbed b/c of the high sticker price.

I'm sure the manufacturer eats that 20% in the form of a rebate to the dealer. So really the dealer doesn't start taking any sort of hit until after that 20%, so that's good you shopped around and chipped off a little more.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the great buy on that 2016 Limited. Did you buy on 8-31 by any chance? Some dealers give great deals on the last day of the month if they need another sale to help them get more money on every one they sold that month. Doesn't matter--you did great!

Thanks Ptram for the warm welcome! We actually just bought it yesterday and there we no financing contingencies or other "requirements" at that price point. We are financing through our own institution and did not qualify for any other programs (ie. military, lease/purchase loyalty, etc) that would have traditionally added the discounts in.

Hopefully this helps anybody else that is about to buy b/c we were looking to purchase a few wks ago and probably would have paid ~$4k more for a similarly equipped vehicle. I never in my wildest dreams thought a dealer would discount that heavily just to move '16 inventory.

In my mind, I now have more leverage with the little lady to modify the new toy!

Jeepfan --- we were wondering the same thing. If the manuf is ponying up for the entire 20%, the dealer still has their traditional margin $$ to flex with.

Found a trailhawk

The wife and I found a trailhawk on labor day here in MN.

MSRP was just over $39k, before any negotiation the Jeep was advertised at $28,993.

It's now in the garage, I won't pass that deal.

I learned a little more about the current incentive program yesterday when a second dealer tried to win back the business. They told us the manufacturer provided them with $500 "coupons"....no idea if this is true, but that's what he said.

In addition to the 20% off, he was going to throw in x4 of these coupons, dropping the price another $2k.

The deals are so tempting, I priced out a loaded TH yesterday in Mango Tango. Then the little lady reminded me that having x2 Cherokees and my big custom truck was "silly" --- but the deals are just so crazy right now!!! I relented, sulked and went on my merry way. Sadly I could not convince her to buy a Mango Tango TH, instead of the dark grey Limited.

bought a 2017 TH

Bought a 2017 Trail Hawk. On Saturday I bought a 2015 TH 4cyl on Tues I took it back and bought a 2017 TH with discounts and rebates I only paid $2500 more than the 2015 which was used with 9000 miles on it. The new 2017 has a V-6 engine and Nav system, and only 31 miles on the speedo.. Not counting Tax & Lic I got it for 28,000.
