Hey guys, new the forum!!
We are in New England and just bought a near fully loaded V6 limited...MSRP of $42k. We walked out the door paying $30.5k (not a typo). They gave us the 20%, then dropped another ~$2.5k when we told them we actually found the exact Cherokee we wanted at another dealer for $31k that also gave us 20% off. Originally we didn't want the tech package due to the cost, but he asked us that if he beat the other guy by $500, would we take it? With an enthusiastic "yes", we bought it a few minutes later.
Honestly, I'm seriously wondering how we grabbed it so cheap. We searched the vehicle for dents and other forms of damage b/c dropping $11k on a $42k Jeep is something I have never seen before. Any opinions on this?? I thought the dealers didn't have any movement on the 20% off Cherokees, but this guy proved me wrong.
Also, the 20% is also based on "build date" of the truck, plus package (i.e. Limited). I verified there were no mid-year updates by Jeep, it was to do with Jeep believing that if it sat in inventory for so long, there is something that is making it hard to sell. In this case I can see why in the one we grabbed b/c of the high sticker price.
Welcome to the forum and congrats on the great buy on that 2016 Limited. Did you buy on 8-31 by any chance? Some dealers give great deals on the last day of the month if they need another sale to help them get more money on every one they sold that month. Doesn't matter--you did great!
