Can confirm. Didn't want to spend the extra money so I ended up with an AD1 Latitude. I love it, but I would love to have a Trailhawk even more. To be fair though, I didn't really know much when I got mine, I was just like "I just want a 4 wheel drive, and a V6, that's all I care about." If I knew then what I know now, I would have just sucked it up and got a TH then and there. Now if I want to trade it in, it's gonna cost me even thousands MORE than it would have otherwise. Have to pay tax and license all over again, which is a few grand, plus I think I'm about 1-2k upside down. I'm still gonna do it (lol) just gonna wait til funds allow it--saving up to pay all that difference in cash, to keep my monthly payments modest. For now I'll be content sticking to the easier forest roads. I can still go a lot of awesome places and see a lot of beautiful sights.

You sound just like me. I have always purchased a vehicle off of the lot; not doing any investigating on what I really wanted or what was available. My TH is the first vehicle that I have ever purchased with everything that I wanted; and more. I built it on the Jeep Site and assigned it to my Dealer at the end of August, last year. The Dealer called me and I set an appointment with the Salesman. I was pre-approved by Chrysler; I knew that I wouldn't have dicker around with the price. The first thing the Salesman asked me is if the color I chose (Mango Tango) would be a deal breaker for me. I answered yes. MT or nothing! He informed me that Jeep was now building 2017s and MT was no longer being offered. But, the Salesman had done his home work and found two that were in the my Dealer's trade area. One was stripped; the other loaded. I did not want the black wheels (love them now), the Tech Group (getting used to it!), the sunroof (love it!), and the Cold Weather Group (don't need it, but I do like the wiper heaters on the windshield, and the auto wipers is a joke!). I wanted the remote CD player, but my TH does not have it; but, it does have every other available option offered for MY 2016. I paid a little more than I wanted; I got what I wanted for my 2014 Journey Crossroad, and $5,000 in incentives + 0% financing for 72 months. I'm still looking at getting a remote CD player but the inside of the console is different; so, it may be a bigger problem than just installing it and and plugging it into the radio. But, in the end, I'm stoked. I finally got what I wanted.

As far as the 4wd system, nothing. They are the same. The L package includes the tech and safety package I think. So adaptive cruise, leather seats, etc.

Out of curiosity, I built a Trailhawk L as close to mine as I could, and it came up cheaper than mine! I could not build a Trailhawk exactly like mine either. So, I'm glad I didn't wait and got what I wanted.

Unless they have changed since last September, the L package does not include the Tech and Safety. The L package was $4000 last September, and it included all the other option packages that in MY2016 added up to roughly $4800. It was advertised somewhere that it was a 20% savings. I wanted everything but the cold weather package, but I got it due to the L package. I basically got it for free.

In terms of Trailhawk offroad equipment, there is no difference between L and non-L. Due to some reallllly crappy authoring/coding on the Jeep website early in the 2017 model year, when comparing models it appeared that a lot of the Trailhawk offroad features were stripped.

I HONESTLY Was surprised that the Sport Altitude don't come with back up camera at all!! Not even as a option. My cousin was pretty bummed out that it doesn't have it since she does like the blacked out grille, logo, and wheels. So she was forced to go to latitude. So the dealer offered her $500 to blacked out the logos, wheels, and grille so she ended up picking this one up http://www.jackkeymotor.net/new/Jeep...dbf364cee7.htm . It went from $29k to just a little over $23k. It was definitely a steal for sure considering the content that you get in latitude than that of the Sport Altitude though.
