Rigid Industries 20in E2 Combo LED Bar

Hey guys,

I know there has been lots of talk about upgrading the lights and installing new ones. Just wanted to share the 20in e2 bar I had installed. The amount of light it puts out it unreal. It is mounted on the Rigid Industries license plate mount. Let me know if anyone has any questions.

I'm also really looking forward to receiving @myfirstcherokee mounts! Anyone who hasn't checked out his mounts, check them out for sure.

Thanks all

Very nice! I wondered how the license plate bracket would work, look great! Can we possibly get some more pics of the light & bracket. Daytime is ok

Thanks for sharing!

Sweet! I'm planning to do the same thing. Can you tell me a little bit about how you wired it up? Did you mount a switch in the interior or wire it directly into the high beams? How did you reinforce the license plate holder?

Thanks in advance.

Nice. Sure beats buying the RRO light bar and swiss cheesing the front bumper with holes.

Thanks guys. So to start, the license plate was removed. The blank space behind it was filled with just a blank piece of scrap metal so there would be no lip around the license plate (like it is stock). I then got the Rigid Industries license plate holder and flipped it around and bolted it there BACKWARDS. I then got a piece of scrap metal that was the same length as the light bar. I mounted that on top of the license plate mount. I then installed the light bar on top of that piece of scrap metal. The license plate was then added last along with two more bolts on the bottom. The wire ran straight under the hood with plenty of space. For button wise, i just used a sticky PIAA button and placed it right to the left of the steering wheel. This way there was no drilling for a button. It sounds like a complicated process but ended up looking very clean.

By the way, 4 wheel parts did all of the installation for me. It took about 4 long trips there until I finally thought of this idea and they said it would work. So far it is very stable and having no problems.

Will post more detailed pics later.

Vision X also makes a license plate bracket for a light bar. It looks like the top mounting surface is longer than the Rigid. Might save the process of adding an extra plate on top.

I dont think there's is 20inches so you would still have to add a plate to be able to mount this big of a light bar. But i believe that one is cheaper than the rigid, so you could save some $ there.

Nice job on the bar. I'm happy with my 10 inch E2 combo. Yours looks a lot brighter. I checked different mounting locations and found the license plate mount easy and functional. More owners will see the light so to speak and use a similar mounting procedure.

Doesn't the front license plate bracket just screw into the plastic fascia? If so, that doesn't sound too sturdy for an LED light bar. Or does it come with longer screws to get to some metal?

Rigid Industries Light Bar Install Behind Lower Front Grill

Above is the link to the thread I started to mount mine. I looked very carefully at doing what you are doing but had a few concerns. Mostly the weight and security of it. I wanted it to be a bit more hidden for both looks and away from thieves. They are awesome lights. So you do not have any concerns about it not rattling? Does it vibrate while driving...making the light dance?

I am looking forward to some more pictures. Congrats.
