So, I have had this car now for 3 weeks and my wife has noticed a very faint whining noise coming from the car. I left the family in the car when I went in to the store. I turned the car off, got out of the car and walked in. While the wife and kids were in the car they heard a very faint whining noise coming from inside the car. When I came out I it the button to lock the car and the noise went away. I drove the car home, turned the car off, opened the door so everything turned off then closed the door. My hearing is horrible but my wife and kids in the back seat could hear it. I listened around and heard it coming from the area near the display screen. Was wondering if anyone else has the same issue with their car.

There's been several people mention hearing this, I've personally heard it too. I believe it's though to be some kind of pump that continues to run, but it sounds more electrical to me.

I've heard various noises at different times as the vehicle settles in for a rest.

One sounds like an old dial up modem emanating from the head unit. My 8.4AN head unit does have a cell modem built in so it might be that.

I get a high pitched whining sound from the rear of my 2015 sport. Dealer said they replaced an idler pulley but the sound returned 3 days later. They still have to fix my uconnect5 issue, wobble and the whining sound as well as my rear drivers side seat as it's locked in place and won't move.

Is the whine there only when your Cherokee is in motion? I have seen some posts on noisy axle seals. Try spraying some silicone lubricant on the axle seals.

All these modern vehicles have a LOT of electronics to them as you know.

When I shut off my Dodge Challenger and I sit in it for a couple minutes admiring the beauty of the fine machine she is, I hear all kinds of slight noises coming from the dash area behind the radio/vents ect.....it stops after about a minute.

Nothing to worry about if it doesn't effect the drive-ability of the vehicle or you're not throwing any codes or dash light warnings ect....

Whirring after shutoff

Its the coolant water pump and it runs for a couple of minutes after shutoff.

That's what I notice as well. Alarming the first time you hear it, but after knowing the reason, its not an issue anymore. This KL has a lot of tech and a lot of features that have been "fun" to get acquainted with.

The only noise I hear from our TH is from the NAV. Like in, "Prepare to turn left in half a mile..." I wish that they could have found a nicer voice....

I have a "whistle," maybe some would call it a whine....Not sure what noises are normal on such a high-tech vehicle, but it hasn't worried me enough to pay enough attention to try to locate it or see if it does it all the time, some of the time, continues after shutting down.......Bad owner! Maybe, maybe not..... It doesn't sound damaging like some odd vehicle noises do.

I had the same problem with our 2015 Trailhawk. It was especially noticeable when parked and the engine running. A very high pitched whine. Discussed this with the dealer when I brought the Jeep in for it's first service. At first the service associate tried to say it was normal so I had them get a V6 Trailhawk from the lot and do a comparison. The trailhawk from the lot did not have the "high pitched whine". They conceded that it wasn't normal and the service tech crawled under the vehicle and said that it was the actuator for the rear differential. They ordered the part in and replaced it a few days ago and the whine has not returned.

I don't know precisely what the rear diff actuator does or what it is. We picked up the Trailhawk late in the day the paperwork wasn't ready so I don't have a list of parts that was used. I only know what the service rep told me on the phone. So far this dealer has been good at following up on the issues with the vehicle. If I get the paperwork, I'll post the info here.
