Anybody konw if you can change the picture on the touch screen with personal jpg or gif?

Last fellow is correct, no Hard Drive...hmmm I have that in my 2012 JKU Sahara. Lotsa jazzy stuff on my wife's new '15 TH but no HD even like the '10 Liberty we traded! No pics of our grand kids sailing on our fancy "new" screen!!

Kinda going Backwards dontcha think?? Guess I'm old fashioned. Now I gotta use and keep some SD cards (well maybe one big GB stick/card) in the Jeep???

Hard drive prices continue to hit insanely low levels, but I'd rather not have a hard drive spinning if I'm bouncing around off-road. SSD prices are coming down as well, but flash memory (SD) is still a little cheaper.

64GB SD is common, 128GB and 256GB are available although still a bit expensive. 512GB and 1TB are coming or available at high price.

With an estimated 86MB of file size per hour of music (http://www.audiomountain.com/tech/audio-file-size.html), 64GB gives 745 hours of music.

A "SD card" wallet is significantly smaller than a CD wallet. I have several that hold 6 cards. That's another 4,470 hours (or 6 months of continuous play) you can throw in the glove box or a pocket somewhere.

The largest avalable iPod is 64GB and you need to re-copy if you want a different library.

I think SD and no hard drive makes sense. Plus, no need to send the vehicle to the dealer if the hard drive fails.

Exactly.
Implementing a mechanical storage device would actually be "going backwards". Digital storage is much more stable and larger relative capacities. Makes way more sense.

2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude, Bright White 2.4L I4 for me.
2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude, Deep Cherry Red 3.2L V6 for wifey.
2008 Jeep Patriot Sport, Jeep Green for son.

I agree to a small extent...however with my JKU never had an issue off road with the hard drive. Actually really don't have anything on while off roading, rather concentrate on what's happening. I really liked the hard drive in both my Jeeps but that's just how I feel...kinda miss the photo thingy though. I can now look at all the none essential stuff that I don't need to see. Oh ya, I can see some album covers when I have on my Sirius! I know I should be concentrating as I said above! You're probably right, but I liked the HD, actually use my Sirius radio, probably don't even need the rest...just old...fashioned I guess. I think the whole display is really great and I guess advanced, but talk about distracting!!!

I am actually more interested why I can't get 3D on my GPS as they show in my OM DVD??? Unless it just happens in cities? I have, as instructed all the proper check marks, but no real 3D? Posted a new thread yesterday about that, no takers? My $100 Garmin is more interesting to look at...well I have names of rivers (some) and I can control my GPS by voice...yippee?

Haven't had my car in the city yet so can't comment on 3D there. Have seen 3D (I guess) come up on 6+ lane expressways where big Green xway signs display showing which lane(s) to be in.
