HID installed, now CEL.

Hey all.

I installed the Xenon Depot HID kit today. Not to bad. Some connector issues that were resolved (I hope).

Everything seems fine except my CEL came on. I'm hoping its because I had the battery disconnected for a good while. When I first started the car it told me that "Four Wheel Drive Is Temporarily Unavailable", but that went away. Hoping CEL will go out after some cycles or miles.

Anyone else have this happen after the install? As far as I can tell I've put everything back together right.

2014 Latitude, 2,4 L, 4x4.

Thanks
Steve

It should go away after a certain amount of time after you reconnect the battery.

It's either a time or number of starts. I don't remember.

HID installed, now CEL.

Just so. It took a full round trip commute to work and back (40 miles each way) for mine to go away when it came on when I did the trailer wiring install. It doesn't like having the battery disconnected for any more than a few minutes but it goes away after a bit when it realizes everything is fine

Just did my hid install with battery removal method, cel came on, also with parksense lanesense unavailable msg. Took my scanner and cleared the code, btw the code was U code so it was due to battery disconnected. Drove it for about 200 meters and parksense and lanesense came back on

Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear the CEL should clear on its own.

Thanks again.

Every time I've added lights or messed with the battery the CEL comes on. I freaked out the first time thinking I messed something up because CEL was on and ESS was "Not available". I have an OBDII tool so now I just clear it. I don't remember the actual code but Torque lite seems to think its an issue with a Mitsubishi rain sensor or something of the like. I'll follow up with the actual code once I get my poor-man's-sPOD installed.
