Shuffle Music

I was on a long trip, and set my music to Shuffle but no Repeat. The problem is, every time I made a pit stop, even though it would pick up the sound where it left, it would re-shuffle the music again. So I ended up listening to the songs that I had listened before, while other songs were never played. I wonder if there is anyway that I can tie the shuffling to the trip, and not re-shuffle every time I turn the engine off.

Well this is what I do. I take all songs from their folders and just drop them on the SD card or thumb drive.
The Uconnect will list the songs in alphabetical order. Lets say you have 5000 songs on there. All singers and bands don't start their songs with the same letter. So therefor you can start at song #1 without the shuffle and it will start playing all songs that start with A, then go to B etc: The Uconnect will start from the last song you stopped at.
You have a shuffle really because the odds of lets say Supertramp having 3 songs in a row starting with A is probably not gonna happen. You are going to get quite a mixture of singers and bands and before you know it, you will be at song 5000 with not one repeated song.
Works for me.

I made it very simple. I don't use folders. I have a Dell All-in-One with Windows 10. I fought with Apple and Uconnect for two years with the 8.4 in my Journey, mainly getting art to display. I began with iTunes, and received no help from Apple and Uconnect C/S is clueless. I looked into Windows Media Player and found out it will, by default, go out on the net and search for art. So, I reloaded all my CDs back into the computer with WMP. More art displayed, but not all. I was ready to cut a square hole in the 8.4 screen and slide in a MyGig! So, I trade my Journey in on this Jeep, slide in my SD card and it reads: NO USABLE FILES! WTF! So, I delete WMP, and reload all of my CDs back in using iTunes, knowing that I'm going to have an ART problem. Any art from Apple is a proprietary file and will only display on an Apple product.

I then go to Music > iTunes and and copy this folder onto the SD card. So, now Jeep reads SD card. NO art displays, but all songs are in alphabetical order, as noted in the previous post. Just go down the list, and select a song. I just keep it on "INFO" so I don't have to look at that dreaded generic music note!

One thing I have noticed about the 8.4 in the Jeep: the screen was much brighter in the Journey; both set to 10. The Journey used red whereas the Jeep uses a brownish color for the soft keys.

I am aware of the size. 95% of my art comes directly from the CDs. These all displayed on my MyGig, and most on the 8.4 in my Journey. The balance I scanned in using Uconnect's directions and they all display on my iTunes Library on my computer. They must be JPEG, but the size escapes me now. Some of these displayed in my Journey. Now, no art at all displays in the Jeep. Same CDs, same scanned art. I placed all of my scanned art files in the art folder in the iTunes folder. I absolutely hate these radios. For the life of me, why did the get rid of the MyGigs and the 30GiG HDs?

I know old Post, but in case anyone else wants my suggestion - make a playlist (or ten, or however many!) and play them. Then shuffle them in whatever order you want and save the playlist and use that instead of listening to the songs play. I completely agree on the crappy shuffle of this stupid radio. It starts whatever song you're on as 1) and could immediately listen to one of the already listened songs before getting to one you've not made it to yet!!!

Update: I ditched the SD Card. I have spent too much effort and time to get it to work. I bought an iPod. All art displays: synched directly from my iTunes Library on my computer.

I can now Shuffle: All songs, or Artist (all songs or by album)

I'm trying to think what I can stuff into that empty SD Card slot!
