Unless things have changed with the CanBus since my 2011 Nitro, you will not be able to get a factory Amp to work if your vehicle did not come with it.
1. All of the radios are the same: either with an external Amp or not. There is a small Amp built into the radios. The MyGigs had a 66W Amp, 17.5W/Channel. This powers the 6 speakers in the non-amp system. I do not know the output of these new radios.
2. When the Factory Amp is added, the Amp sends a signal to the radio that it is there. The radio powers up the Amp and then the Amp sends a signal back to the radio to cut the power: the radio becomes a pre-amp: the speaker power is reduced going to the amp. Full power goes to the speakers, from the radio, if there is not an Amp present.
3. The Forum Moderator on the Nitro Forum acquired everything needed to add the Factory Amp, and the second set of tweeters in the rear doors, and the sub in the rear 1/4 panel. He had the wire schematics, and made sure every connector had the correct wires going to the correct pin. Everything was wired correctly. For some reason, the radio would "recognize" the Amp, but the Amp would not "recognize" the radio. The radio would tell the Amp to turn on, but the Amp refused to power up!
He took it to two Dealers trying to figure out why it would not work. It had something to do with what circuits are shared on the CanBus.
4. If you get this to work, more power to you. Amen, brother. If not, see if you can have the 9-speaker system added to your build sheet.
