Just tried these and they didn't work for me. Frustrating that they work on some cars but not on others....

Forgive my electrical ignorance, but I picked up a pair of these same resistors to hopefully get rid of the license plate bulb out error. I installed one on the passenger side and I still get the error. Going to try the second one on the driver side, but there's 2 red and 2 black wires on that side. How do I know which red and black to connect to, or doesn't it matter?

I posted my fix a few pages back. It involves 3 resistors, and they just go inline. There's none of those crimp / pinch things involved.

Ok, so apparently the fix is to clip off one of the resistors and replace it with one of the original bulbs. Makes sense it would be the perfect load, right? lol

Whatever you have going on there is way more complex than what I have.

I bought two sets of resistors, daisy chained them together, plugged in the LED bulb and no errors.

Honestly, I think it's less complex. I just have a bulb clipped on instead of a resistor. No multiple sets of anything daisy chained together. Obviously the resistors I have don't mimic the load properly. I just need to find the right one to make my car happy. Everyone's KL seems to have it's own personality!

I don't see any difference in brightness with or without the resistors installed.

A sledgehammer approach would be to use a multimeter. Put it in series with the factory bulb to see how many amps are being drawn. Then get a cheap pack of various size resistors. Replace the bulb with your LED and swap in resistors until one matches the draw of the original bulb. Then buy an appropriate automotive resistor of the same resistance.
