I had to put one on each light to get rid of the backup error
I'm not all that electrically inclined, and am having trouble seeing exactly what wires you connected to the resistor. I have the parts, but the way yours is connected looks strange to me. Can you elaborate a bit?

Edit: Best I can tell you put the resistor in parallel with the bulb. Are those connectors just as easy as wrapping around the wire and crimping?

Just connect one end of the resistor to each wire on the bulb. one end to black and one end to yellow.

on the connectors, one side slides up and down the wire you are connecting it to and the other side you put in the end of the other cable.

I've noticed the "cheaper" LED bulbs flicker. I replaced my interior lights with ones from SuperBright LEDs and they flicker. If they are on for an extended period it is worse.

If I had to guess why sometimes you get a backup light out error, it's because of flicker. I have since replaced my interior bulbs with Phillips LEDs and they are by far superior. They cost a lot more, but they are better.
