USB Flash Drive for Music Question

Does it max out at 32GB like the SD does? Or can the it play the 64GB as well?

Are there any tech requirements (or recommendations re: brand, model), etc?

Thanks everyone!

I believe 32gb is the most the car can handle.

Thought someone put a huge harddrive in the center console connected to the USB.

-edit- @denlem has a 1TB drive listed in his mods... '1TB Hard Drive with 16,000+ songs'

I got the SD slot to work with a 64gb card but haven't tested the USB yet. I think the limit came in software wise on how many tracks it could display/handle.

Might wander outside and test out one of my 1tb drives...

It's true, 1TB hard drive installed and up to 17,000 songs now!

So when someone says there are limits, they're not doing it right! I haven't found the limit yet!

32gb, any larger and it uses exfat which is not supported. You can reformat a larger SD card to work, but I believe you lose space.

Can anyone link me up, or explain what format the files need to be for USB?

Just drag and drop? Or convert to another file through iTunes or Windows?

I drag and drop mp3 and mp4 files to the SD card and they play fine. Just using the 16 GB size.
