How do you turn off the radio?

I know you can mute it but is there away to turn it off?

Supposedly with the new Uconnect firmware upgrade you can mute the radio and it will stay muted on restart, unlike now where when you restart the radio comes back on.

Thanks. Just seems weird not to be able to just turn it off. I keep searching the screen. I thought I was missing something obvious.

I tried the mute today before I turned off the Jeep. The mute was not active when I started it back up. I applied the update on Sunday.

it does get annoying. i sleep in my jeep during my lunch break at work. i don't want to waste the battery so i plug in my headphones on my iPhone but the radio is still on even when the jeep is off. i do have to open/close the door for it to turn off.

Pushing the volume control knob under the screen is an on/off switch.

OOPS! Disregard. Just went out and checked. It's only a mute switch and does not turn off the whole system.

It was frustrating trying to figure out this issue. The best thing I've found is to turn the volume all the way down while set to one of the active input sources - radio, iPod, disc, etc., before turning off the car. If I don't follow these steps, when I start the car, the radio tunes to the lowest AM frequency which is, of course, loud static. It appears the uconnect system is so integrated that you can't really turn off any aspect of the system.
